Recently, Nokia saw the launch of their first smartphones powered by Windows be released in India, The Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710. Both phones use a 1.4 GHz processor. They also support playback of HD video. The 800 is the premium of the two devices and has many terrific features which make it an exciting up and coming phone. One plus with the Lumia 800 is that it supports a large 3.7 inch AMOLED display. The display comes with a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels. Many who have the device report that the picture quality is quite stunning. The colours of the device are quite rich, especially blacks. These made the phone appear even nicer looking. The display is extremely glossy. Therefore fingerprints are easily discerned on the screen. Overall, the display is one of the positive qualities of the phone. The phone is built well as a whole. The body of the phone is comprised of polycarbonate. This translates to a solid yet smooth body for the phone. Some might compare the overall look and feel to the aluminum casing found with the Nokia N8 and the HTC Legend. The effect of the body’s design does not affect its weight or its thickness. The Lumia 800 runs the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system. If you’re familiar already with this operating system, then there are no surprises here. One change, however, is the Nokia Maps app comes already installed on the device. Therefore, users no longer have to rely on the default Bing Maps. In some previous Nokia phones, a problem was the inaccuracy of the touch screen. This apparently has been rectified as the problem does not occur with the 800. Scrolling through menus and screens was easily accomplished. The onscreen keyboard also was accurate.
